A T & T Ripping Consumers Off...Illegal Slamming Of Your Phone Service

Consumers beware! If you receive a notice that looks like this from a t & t, DO NOT throw it away, contact your telephone carrier immediately and register a complaint with them and then contact your local state attorney generals office.

Randall L. Stephenson is the chairman and CEO of at&t and they are located in Dallas, Texas so you can write and complain to Mr. Stephenson as well as lodge a complaint with the Texas state attorney generals office.

Telephone slamming by the way is a violation of federal law and you can contact your current carrier and tell them you want to freeze your service which means they will not change it without written consent from you and not some other phone service.

We contacted our telephone carrier and were advised they just went through this over the summer with at&t. Why would you switch to beer when you can have champagne? When I got this in the mail today, I didn't toss it, I asked hubby about it and he said never should this be happening.

The only thing we can think of is we accepted a collect call from our son several months ago and were shocked when we received the telephone bill for over $30.00 for a call that lasted less than 5 minutes. We don't even use at&t for cell phone service and now we recieve a notice telling us that on February 1st, at&t will be our carrier.

NO! We are now waiting for a telephone call from our current telephone services division that deals with telephone slamming. We fully expect this will be settled by noon tomorrow, but I really had to pass this onto all of you. Be careful of this scam or it could happen to you!

You have every right to have the telephone carrier of your choice without having to worry about a company like at&t slamming your telephone. You can also notify your states public utility commissioners and your local Better Business Bureau. Do all you can to ensure your rights are not taken away from you by at&t!

Niki,
Any company can do this, but with the strict federal regulations, I can't even begin to wonder why at&t would stoop to these tactics!
