Still A Loser

Today was our weigh in for the weight loss group I am attending at my local TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and I am still a loser!
I haven't lost huge amounts and I am not losing lots of weight every week, but I have steadily lost weight for the past 4 weeks for a total of 3.6 pounds lost.
It isn't a gain so I am happy and what they keep trying to get through to me is that I didn't put it all on at once, it is going to take a slow process to get it all off! Now, if I can convince myself that as long as I am losing, I am doing a good job!
Thanks to everyone for their support!

I Won A Giveaway...

I entered a giveaway over at Elizabeth and Kates ' Seams Like a Dream Quiltss, ' blog. These 2 women not only quilt but have some very beautiful and fun quilting patterns and funny as this may sound, they do not sell them on their web site but sell them to quilt shops.

The two recently had their very first blog giveaway and were giving away some beautiful handmade quilted purses and I won one of them. Lucky me, just as my old purse was refusing to zip up.

You can check their blog Kate n Libby - Design Divas out and take a look of some of the published patterns and current works they have going on. You won't be sorry!

Toothpaste Experiment

Disclaimer: No animals were hurt during this experiment, children were not forced to participate, husband was not involved, the person doing this is not quite certifiable for the local funny farm, OCD, or any other disorder. This experiment was done in fun and should not be tried on your own family, lest you want them to believe you are ready to be committed!
Okay! I hate messy toothpaste, it drives me crazy, so awhile back I purchased those little plastic thingies that go on the tube and keep them all nice and neat...well how many times can a child take those off? I put it back on and now they don't close the cap...go figure!

In the master bath however, we do use ours, hubby does close the cap and last time we thought we ran out, we squeezed until we thought no more could be squeezed. About 4 days worth & we laughed each time we did it & then tossed it out.

However, today, hubby opened a new tube and I was teasing him about how much he probably is wasting. Not that much he tells me and then almost falls on the floor laughing so hard when I bring in the scissors...'you are honestly not doing what I think you are going to do?' Yep! I cut the bottom off the tube and cut up the side and there inside was all this toothpaste.

The top picture is after I used my toothbrush on it to see how much I could get. However, this bottom picture is of how much toothpaste is actually left in the cap after we squeeze and squeeze and think it is empty. This will be my toothpaste for the next several days to see how much more I can get out of the tube.

I am thinking at least at a minimum another 4 to 5 days worth. Which will get me to thinking how many tubes we go through and how much is left and how many tubes a year we wouldn't have to buy if we do this with everyone and then multiply that by some unimaginable variable for some pretty scary life savings missed like with smokers!

BTW, I am very serious about seeing this little experiment to fruition, however, I will not be doing this again or all the calculations...after all, I admit I am crazy..I am just not OCD about this stuff!
