I have a confession to make. I have been a very bad quilter and tossed away fabrics that no one else probably tosses away. Oh, I am so worried the quilting police are going to stop by my house and arrest me for 'Wasting Her Scraps!'
I do NOT save selvedges, I tried to make a few things with them but they always seem to fall apart, so I toss all of those when I cut them.
I toss fabric pieces away and at times I have tossed hunks of fabric that I am sooooooo tired of looking at year after year. I have also donated fabric and given fabric to new quilters, so one quilting gift wipes out the crime of waste. Am I right? Come on someone here, can I get an agreement?
My latest quandry is I am making a quilt for a friend who gave me an entire box of denim and I am finding lots of left over nice sized scraps and pockets and I hate to toss this stuff but honestly, I would have no use for such pieces.
On the same page is the fact I have lots of left over scraps of Warm and White and Warm and Natural batting that I know someone could use for crafting projects, but I don't have the time or patience to find use for this and since it is kind of pricey, I really hate to toss it out.
However, if you feel you may have a need for this and you are willing to pay the postage to the United States only, I would be more than happy to box it up and send it to a home where someone will have a use for it.

You could check with some of the local nursing homes. Our group helped them use the denim to make "rag quilts" which they in turn sold at their Holiday Bazaaar!
I would be delighted to have your batting scraps, etc. Old pillowcases that are to be tossed make great doggie beds with fabric/batting/denim/etc scraps as filler. I'll be happy to reimburse you the shipping costs. :)
I throw away pieces very seldom...I think it is because I make so many other things though. I dont think the quilt fairy will hold a grudge. Promise.
