Aberdeen is in the Grays Harbor County area and the most impoverished county in the state of Washington. Sierra Pacific Mill just laid 49 people off last week and tonight as I was getting ready to turn the television off I saw where 200 workers from Weyerhauser lost their jobs today.
This will affect our economy immensely. Without jobs, these workers will have to leave the area to find work and that will mean smaller enrollment in schools which are already talking lay offs of teachers and condensed classes.
It will probably no doubt cause a ripple effect as no paper, no pulp and may cause the pulp mill to close.
Please, pray for the community and for others so badly affected by this economic crisis we are in at this time.
