Spring Break, Day Two

What a fantastic day it has been today. It is clear skies, sunny, a bit windy and the weather outside says it is 48 degree's but I haven't seen a child running around yet with a jacket on. It is just the kind of weather you want to have during spring break.

I have heard the children in our yard laughing, shouting and playing, they are riding bikes and
skateboards between our home and a neighbors and I have had the front door open to give the house a good old airing out!

My closet is almost completely painted with the exception of the top portion and I can't physically lift the shelving out, so that will wait for hubbies days off. But it has been cleaned, floors scrubbed, painted and the clouds have been painted in.

Special thanks to you, John, the brighter blue came out perfect as a Robins egg and while I may not be the greatest at making clouds, it looks so much better than it did a few hours ago.

I will soon gather up the children and we will go to Home Depot and pick up a hose nozzle because it is just that perfect time of year to spray our lawn with moss killer. Yes, I know it sounds odd to those of you who may live in drier climates, but moss really gets into our lawns here in Washington and today is the perfect day to put the moss killer on and let it soak in for a few days. As soon as the lawn turns ugly brown and it has done its job, we will replant new seed.

Here are the 3 walls I look at when I am sewing and trust me they were ugly white walls.

They had just a
primer coating on them from the previous owner. Also trust me when I tell you, do yourself a favor and make sure before you permanently affix something to your walls you paint first! Painting between my thread holder was torture.

I am really liking the way it came out and it just looks so bright and cheerful and once the top portion is finished, I can really relax!

I could have painted the trim a light blue or off white and I did on the bottom portion of the closet, but I wanted it all to blend in where I sit at.

I had a friend a few years ago that spent some long hours putting together a special puzzle and having it framed just for me. I was so surprised and overwhelmed by her generosity of her time she put into this. I couldn't have a quilting room without this picture as my focal point. Not to mention, it does look like you are looking through a window at a house across the street!

Isn't this picture just beautiful? I think it is the perfect shape and size for this quilting closet and it gives me something to look at when I am working in this area. I am also hoping to purchase some pegboard to put on one of the
side walls so I can hang my rulers and things on.

I hope you are having some wonderful spring weather and working on a spring project for you that makes you smile!

Not working yet, just planning! Going to try, when I get back on my meds, to make my very first quilt. I think. A Mama quilt, a memory quilt. If I can.
