Rooster Cheater Quilt

I just love this quilt. It is panel of polka dots and roosters and when I walked into my local quilt store, I knew I had to have it. I don't collect roosters or chickens, but it is just one of those things that made me smile.

I used my new cutting table and was able to lay, cut and pin without my back aching or having to put this on the floor.

If you look closely, you can see where I quilted between all the rows and then instead of adding a binding, I tucked the top over the rolled bottom and finished it up this morning before taking diva girl to the dentist and before taking an afternoon teaching job.

The back side of this is black with white poka dots it is all 100% cotton fabric with a polyester batting. I got to try my hair clips to hold the edges all together. I don't know where I saw that nifty idea, but it worked, now I just have to buy some more clips.

I hadn't noticed until I put these all together how well the colors from the pillows match the colors on the quilt. Hmmmm, maybe I am getting better at this color matching thing.

I was so excited to be back at the elementary school I worked at today and my day was made complete when the students from one of the classes surrounded me and hugged my knee's yelling Mrs. K, Mrs. K.

I started quilting last year and love it. I am passing on to you the one lovely blog award if you will accept it. If so please stop by my site to pick it up.
Thanks
