Not Finished Yet, But It Will Be

Here is the quilt I am making for my mom. I just feel it is so important to have her feel surrounded by family since we are scattered hither and yon, so I decided to incorporate her grandchildren of all ages into a yellow brick road quilt. My previous daughter-in-law Missy was sweet and sent me 2 great ones of my moms oldest great grandchildren, so tomorrow when I get more printer ink, I will finish this.

This picture on the left is just a close-up on the squares and how they are being put together. I have actually had a great time mixing and matching it all and then blending in the pictures to go with it.

The lighter squares that appear totally white are actually an off white with pink ribbons on them. The darker appearing white squares are actually light pink with a darker pink ribbon on them.
I sent her a picture of her dad awhile back on a pillow and she really loved it, so I know this will cheer her up since she has been in the hospital for the last 2 days in terrible pain. The docs aren't sure if it is from the chemo or the Neulasta she was given, but today is the first time in 3 days that she has eaten anything and moms husband told me she ate 75% of her breakfast!
I am hoping that she is now rounding the corner and going to be able to come home soon. I appreciate prayers and if anyone would like to send her cards to help her get better, you can let me know and I will pass on her address!

I love all the family quilts my grandma has made me over the years. These things will remain in my family forever (well, let's hope)! I love the photo quilts - that is extra special!
