A New Look For An Old Bathroom

Drum roll please............... You do remember yesterdays pictures of my yucky bathroom? No? Seriously, you don't really remember? Well, here it is!

Today, after spending more than 6 hours in our home and poor hubby going stir crazy from having to sit around, I came home to find the most amazing in process transformation and I simply can't stop staring at.

Strike up the band, bang a gong, do a flip, clap your hands, whatever it takes, but my dear readers and friends, may I introduce you to the newest repair in our home....the humble bathroom!

It is wonderful. The only disappointment was going to Home Depot to find baseboards and as usual, they had showing what we wanted, but we were told it no longer is available and I kid you not, it took 3 sales persons to look.

Tomorrow we will contact our local lumber company and I am sure they will have exactly what we need, 4" wood baseboards. Not compressed wood, not laminate, but real wood!

We have located a company on line that makes vent covers for a very reasonable price and instead of the old wall register, we are going to replace it with a modern looking white register.

We picked out all the plumbing and hubby is taking the plumbing and bringing it through the wall instead of up through the floor as it is now. I am planing on stripping all the old painted wood surfaces this up and coming summer.

Tomorrow the new sink goes in, the new fixtures go up and hubby already won a bizillion brownie points with this soft and cute toilet seat: It has dragon flies on it. The old seat was a flimsy plastic and everytime you sat on it, it wobbled. This one is cushy and soft!

And lastely, the flooring in the hall coming out of the bathroom and leading into the kitchen. Remember yesterday between this door jamb was bare flooring because I had cut tile out of the area several years back.

Wow! I am just so pleased and can't wait until it is all completed! Moores Flooring of Aberdeen, WA, you rock!

Good for you, Jean. Your bathroom redo is looking great...the baseboards will make a big difference. It's always exciting to come to the end of home improvement projects. The new floor looks great...can't wait to see the new sink. A soft toilet seat is such a bonus...because they don't seem to get quite so cold in the wintertime.

We no longer use Home Depot unless they are the only option left...service is why. Fortunately we have a local Lowe's.
