(Ducking from the boo's you are tossing at me ). Seriously though, I am making my DIL a butterfly quilt and it is really a wall hanging so in order to make it a bit larger I had to purchase some fabric for outer border. Really, the fabrics I have on hand would not match the quilt. So, knowing she really likes green, I picked up this batik looking fabric for the outer borders. I would give you the name, but there were no selvedges on this piece.
For the back, I chose this print by Brian Evans Quilting Treasure by Cranston print works entitled Ghost Artists. It is several shades of purple with some gold outlines and will be used for the back of the quilt and binding. I am hoping it will just fit and I will have none left over...consider the odds.
Lastly, I picked up this 3/4 yard piece of Ozark Calicos by Fabri-Quilt just because I like black and white prints that aren't extemely busy.
In my own defense, I can say I have used more fabric this year that I have purchased and that includes the following:
I have used up more fabric this year than over the past few years and I know with the devastating tornadoes across Mississippi, there will be an urgent call out from 911 Cares for help and I love making quilts for dispatchers.
I hope others are stronger than I have been and all I can do is repent and make more quilts!

5 Months! That is super! I made it about 2.5 months before I caved in.
We also made the exception to allow fabric purchases for the completion of projects. No sense letting the project languish in the UFO pile because you don't have fabric to finish it.
A little reward every now and then isn't a bad thing. As long as the amount out is greater than the amount in, you are doing great.
you deserve it so I am happy you gave in......
