Going Back To School Giveaway...Win $60 Gift Certificate

Do you remember going back to school as a child or teen? Perhaps you dreaded the first day of school or couldn't wait for summer to end to go back to school. What did you like about the first day of school...the smell of new wax on the school floors, new clothes, books? Whatever it was, I bet you spent days at a time sitting at your parents various dining room sets over the years doing homework & eating after school snacks.

Maybe the after school snacks were your favs...I know my mom had a baking day every week and we would come home to freshly baked oatmeal or peanut butter cookies and a cold glass of milk...yummy!

Well my dear readers, CSN stores has generously agreed to allow me to choose one lucky reader to win a $60 gift certifificate to use in any of their stores. Yes! You read it right...$60 and I know if you are a regular follower of mine, you know I recently won one of their generous gift certificates and used it for purchasing a bathroom fan that is fantastically quiet!

You don't even have to look at dining room sets to win, but you do have to sign up, twitter, facebook and get others to come on over and participate. Here is how it will all work out...I know, just like school there are rules!

  • You can choose to use your certificate at any of their over 200 on-line shops and let me tell you, they are wonderful!
  • DO NOT LEAVE A COMMENT ON CSN'S FACEBOOK PAGE, IT VIOLATES FACEBOOK RULES!

Sounds like fun! Sign me up. :) I already follow you but I'm off to tweet this!

I loved school. Geek, I know. But I was good at it and had a lot of activities like music and drama. I looked forward to back to school shopping so I could buy the same back black pack every year. Never changed! But I filled it with cute supplies. Even today I buy cute supplies for my desk lol.

I remember how important a backpack was for the first day of school. I looked for weeks and weeks for the perfect backpack, saved up money from odd summer jobs (I always wanted one my parents thought was too much), and felt so special on the first day of school!

Man,I hated school and all my memories are bad and painful but I have one memory that sticks out.I remember the guy who tortured me badly in school had ignored me the whole week and I was so happy to be left alone and on Friday he was starting to pick on me again.Well, to make a long story short he walked up to me and said he needed to throw his gum in the trash and spit his gum in my hair and he really rubbed it in my hair. The best part of this memory was when I slapped him across the face.He never touched me again.Oh,and years later he begged me to forgive him for being so terrible to me.

My silliest school memory was from 1st grade (I didn't go to KG(. I had long hair to my bottom, and one day my teacher found me staring at the ceiling with tears in my eyes. "What's wrong Shawnee?" "I'm sitting on my hair," I blubbered. I was also apparently not very resourceful. Thanks for the helping hand, Miss George! =)

I can remember my kindergarten graduation, my brother played the principal and the other brother was in charge of the music, I had one of my dance costume under my gown and was to dance, The song was pretty baby, and I looked huge as the costume was a long tulle ballerina skirt. My music came on and I danced, only my dear brother had played the record at the wrong speed, Pretty Baby started really fast until the mistake was corrected. OPPS did I say record, yes it was a really, really, really long time ago, but I remember like it was yesterday. Now with grand kids of my own the last one starting school this year, how time flies.

Thanks for emailing me the contest! YA!
~my fondest school memory was of a teacher I had in college~a grad student, no doubt. She was teaching my general biology class. At the time I was 'undecided' and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. She was so good, so inspiring, I decided to major in zoology and earn my BS in Zoology. What a fun time that was. and a great teacher! Thanks for letting me enter :)
my email is nikimcn (a)t hotmail
you know the rest and how it should look :)
Thanks again~ oh ya, and I don't have FB or twitter :(

The part of my education that I enjoyed the most was elementary school in a 2 room school house with 3 grades to each room. At the time, we didn't have all the amenities of the "town" schools. Yet, we learned. Each morning we started with an assembly of song, prayer, pledge, and reading to the classroom of new poems, etc. The same teacher (who was the principal) taught me for 4 years. She taught us how to learn. And, she was only 4 foot tall!

I was always disappointed when school started because it put an end to my summer chain reading (I read a book a day most of the summer). Weird. I know.

My favorite school memory is the field trips we took on school buses, in 6th grade, to the symphony. The audience was just kids, from schools all over town. We dressed up, I just loved it.

I was feeling depressed in the middle of summer. It was so hot and humid I just wanted to hide away in my apartment. After a batch of thunderstorms rolled through, I decided to take my little shih tzu, Maddy for a walk
outside. We walked down by the
stream behind our apartments and discovered batches of gigantic puddles. Even though I was almost 30 at the time, I looked at Maddy and she looked at me. We took off running and jumping and splashing in the puddles. I laughed like I was a little girl.

I couldn't get rid of them. everyone was starring I was so embarrassed! the teacher finally called me up to the front and made me drink water and stand upside down in front of everyone. My favorite school memory is from my senior year of high school. My friends and I thought we would eat lunch in someone's car and listen to music when we came across and amorous couple. One of the boys thought it would be funny to throw a sandwich or something at their window to let them know we knew what they were up to. Well the guy got out and started chasing us with a baseball bat! We all ran screaming away, but it was just really funny and random and we all had a good laugh about it after school and many times in the future!

I went to a private school where we wore uniforms and the girls would wear shorts under their jumpers. We were allowed to take off our jumpers for PE and just run around with our shorts and blouse. One day, I was absent minded and forgot to wear short, took off my jumper, and proceeded to run a good ten feet before I realized it was just my Beauty and the Beast underwear on. Definitely my most vivid memory!

Thanks for the chance! My favorite memories involve field trips - my favorite was when we visited a town reenactment from the 1830s. Saw animals, people in period costumes, houses, and gardens - it was a fun trip with my friends.

My favorite memory of school was when I was in JR High I was lucky enough to be sent to the High School to begin studying a foreign Language. This was great for me because I was so ready to move up in the world!

First day of 2nd grade and I got lost returning the film to the school office. Somehow I wandered onto the 5th grade wing. How scary for a shy little girl :)

I would love a new crockpot. The one I use right now can get on your nerves as it "spits" when it gets really hot. Time is added on to the cooking time everytime I have to open it to wipe the lid! So,.. I would love this:

Sad/bad/painful memory of elementary school was when I was singing in the 5th grade choir, fainted, landed chin first off the second riser and broke my jaw.
