My Forever Friend

It is finally finished...yes my dear friend, you knew it was for you because you said you liked the pattern, I think you will really like the way it turned out and as usual, it took me forever to finish it! Now, for all that hard work, I think you owe me a visit! HAHA!!

I placed the quilt label on the back and it has snowmen on it and while the quilt has nothing to do with winter or snow, my forever friend knows why I did this.

So many of us go through life looking for love and believe it or not, I have been blessed in my life to not only have a husband who loves and adores me, but to have another man in my life that has been there a tad bit longer than hubby, who hubby gets along with and who also loves me very much!
Last year when I had my back surgery and then the unfortunate luck of having a second back surgery, it was this wonderful friend who sat with, cared for, drove, massaged my back, mopped my floors and just loved me & he did all this with no expectations of payment....how can you pay something like that back? You can't.
So, I did what I do best...well, maybe not best...but pretty darn close, I made him a quilt for his chair in the evenings when he is watching tele or reading and a pillow that lets him know I love him and will never let him forget that I also love snow...lots and lots of white, flurries, gently falling to the ground...:) With a message pillow!
Many of us come into each others lives for a season , a reason or a lifetime and I have been blessed to have him in my life and know he will be here forever for a lifetime!
He is one of those amazing people who I can call in the middle of the night and he will listen without being angry that I woke him up. He opens his home up to our family and our pets when we show up with them and instead of being upset, he spoils us all!
Making this quilt isn't much, but I know that he knows it comes from the depths of my heart! I also know that writing all of this stuff about him is probably making him uncomfortable because he is just a wonderful humble caring person.

Here is the back of the quilt and pillow. I got the fabric at Elma Variety store and just love the colors and the cream matches the front of the quilt.

The back of the pillow is red and has sayings on it like...'Let it snow, let it snow,' or 'cold hands, warm heart.' I can hear him now...warm heart my foot, you have a cold heart if you wish snow on me...guess what John? Snow, snow, snow and yes my friend, I love you!
