Day 26 - A Photo Of Something That Means Alot To Me

My Singer sewing machine means a alot to me because it was a gift that was totally unexpected and it came from someone I only know through my blog and her comments to me and the blogging that she does. I can't tell you how much this meant to me and how much it moved me to tears of appreciation for Dayna, someone with a heart for a stranger.

You see, sometime last year I was blogging and wrote a 'Dear Santa,' letter and started out with the easy things of what I wanted and mentioned that I really needed a new machine as my grandmothers is literally on its last legs. The thread pins fall off during sewing, the screw that holds the attachments comes out and the presser foot falls off, the tension doesn't stay put anymore.

Just before Christmas, I received an odd Email requesting my telephone number and being the suspicious person I was, I sent Dayna an Email asking if this was actually from her. What I received instead was a telephone call from her, letting me know she found me through easy enough means.

I was just getting ready to head downstairs when she called and when she told me she was sending me a sewing machine, I broke down in tears. It was the most spontaneous gift I had ever received from a person I have never met in person or talked to on the telephone before that night. I just cried.

Several days after Christmas, this machine was delivered to my home.

Thank you Dayna for being an amazing woman and sharing your love, kindness and generosity with me. It helps me to continue giving back to the community in a way I would not have been able to do so without this machine.

God Bless everyone and always remember, be kind to others!

Thank you Jean. I am blessed knowing it is making your life a little easier and allowing you to do something that passes the giving forward in making your quilts.

Everytime I use it Dayna, I think of you. Today, I shared the story with the entire crew of Rebuilding together/Comcast Cares day. You are a blessing!
