Washington States Lt. Governor Meets Kinship Care Children
Children being raised by grandparents or other kin were recognized by Lt. Governor Owen in an Aug. 24 ceremony in his office through the Voices of Children program, sponsor of the 2010 essay contest. Each child was awarded $100 for their essay, courtesy of the TwinStar Credit Union. From left, above, are winners Shaylynn of Seattle, Johnathan of Aberdeen, Lt. Gov. Owen, Matt Devlin with TwinStar, Donavan from Ridgefield and Kaylynn from Centralia (Washington State Senate photo).
This was posted today on the Lieutenant Governors web-site! The little boy in yellow stripes is our grandson!
