Girls Are A Blessing 7 Sooooooooooooo Funny

This has been an amazing week for our family.  Our oldest granddaughter had her final concert on Thursday of this past week (she plays Clarinet) and she practiced more than she has ever practiced and something she very rarely does (maybe once a year) she wore a dress.

The dress and hair was an accomplishment on its own.  She is comfortable in her own skin and loves NOT being a girly girl or 'cutesy,' as she calls it.  But she also wanted to surprise her Papa and look very much like a little princess.  We took off last week and went shopping in the big city (we have a few stores here, but not very easy to find her size) and picked out her dress and socks.

Then on Thursday, our friend met me at the salon with his daughter and left me with the girls, while hubby had to pick up our other 2 grands and friends kids and no one would tell him what was going on or why & his frustration levels were on the rise. He was upset because he would ask me a question and I wouldn't give him a full answer, I couldn't, it was a surprise.

Then yesterday was her week after her birthday party because of the concert and a few other things she wanted to wait.  It was perfect with 10 girls from 4 different schools and 3 different age groups all having a good time.  The giggles, competition in Tether Ball, the loud laughter, the silliness was a perfect contrast to the windy day it was becoming.

These are the times you realize what blessings girls are. Yes, they can be over dramatic and cry at the drop of a pin, but when you get them together like this, they are crazy, goofy and warm your heart.

I am proud of my granddaughter. One of the girls gave her a used skateboard, but she was so excited to now have 3 skateboards and hugged her tightly. Several didn't bring gifts and I know it isn't about the gifts, but with kids...however, true to her heart and nature, she didn't say a word because she doesn't care.

All she cared about and wanted was to have all her friends here, fun and cheesecakes.  They painted Glow in the Dark jars, went on a pictorial scavenger hunt, played Tether Ball and just goofed off.

You realize she is special when 3 of the girls were fighting at spending the night with her.  She had already asked if her bestie from her last school could since she rarely gets to see her anymore.

They are both in band, church programs and busy with their studies. It was a blessing to her because her friends dad could have said no since this is his week-end, but he is a very kind man and said yes.

By 10:30 last night they were sound asleep tucked away downstairs in a nice warm and toasty basement.  The end to a very busy week and a very happy girl!

Next up....little mans birthday party in 8 days, Whew!  I am exhausted already!
