Cherry Dump Birthday Cake

Silly me, it seems I am always taking the after pictures and not the before pictures as is with my granddaughters requested birthday cake for her 12th birthday.

This girl is like her daddy and does not like chocolate or cake very much, so I decided on this since her party will be combined with her sister and brother because their mom is coming up for a visit with their little sister Emerald in June.

After eating it, both her and her brother declared this will be their birthday cakes, so I will make 2 and Aly has requested a traditional cake.

Easiest recipe ever:
1- Yellow Cake Mix
2- Cans of Cherry Pie Filling
1- Cube of Butter (sliced)

Spray a 10x13 baking pan with cooking spray. Dump in both cans of pie filling, sprinkle dry cake mix over pie filling, place sliced butter on top of cake mix and bake for about 45 minutes to an hour  in 350 degree oven.

I checked it at 20 minutes and some of the mix was dry so I pushed it down inside the pie filling a bit.

Add some vanilla ice cream to the top while it is warm and you have a one pan, wonderful desert!

I make this except I use apple pie filling. My husband loves it. I have never tried cherries but I am going to next time.
