Your Chance to Win The Traveling Stash Box

Traveling Stash Box Updates

I won and received the first of two traveling stash boxes a few weeks ago and the box was stuffed to the brim with wonderful fabrics.  Sadly, the box was so full, I needed a new box to put it in and ordered a few of those game board boxes on line from USPS and I am still waiting for them to arrive.

These boxes are just amazing when you receive one and I am now giving the one I received to someone else. All you have to do is be willing to pay the postage on this box to the next person and follow the rules as they are listed here:
 Rules and Guidelines
  • Be an active blogger -- post about receiving the box and the giveaway in a timely manner
  • Update the travel log in the box to let others know where the box has been.
  • There is a list of rules and guidelines in the box -- be sure to follow these to keep the box full of quality items and the experience positive for everyone.
  • You may take any items from the box just be sure that you are replacing them with quality and comparable items. (Guidelines for fabric below)
  • Ship box to the next person timely -- and communicate tracking information with recipient.
  • Shipping is within the US only

Fabric and other item Guidelines

  • Fabric should be quilt shop quality and in new condition. Do not include items smaller than a fat quarter unless it falls into one of the other categories and these should be packaged together.
    • Jelly Roll -- 2.5 inch strips (typically 40 strips per set)
    • Honey Buns -- 1.5 inch strips (typically 40 strips per set)
    • Desert Roll -- 10 strips 5 inches wide cut the length of the fabric
    • Turnovers -- 80 (6 inch) triangles
    • Candy Squares  -- 2.5 inch squares (typically 45 squares per set)
    • Charms -- 5 inch squares (typically 40 squares per set)
    • Layer Cake -- 10 inch squares (typically 40 squares per set)
  • Patterns / Books should be in new or nearly new condition and should be kept to a minimum as this adds bulk and weight.
  • Other items should be new or gently used condition and should be packaged as necessary to ensure that all parts remain together.

Important Things to Remember

  • Please ensure that items in the box are quality. If items in the box are poor quality they should be removed. Items that are being removed can be offered for optional inclusion to the next recipient. Poor quality items can be discarded but this should be done with digression.
  • Only include items that you would be proud to own -- this is not a dumping ground for outdated or worn items
  • Items should be free of smoke, odors  and pet hair
  • You must replace all items that you take with items of equal value and replacing with more than you take is welcome :)
Here is just a peek at what was in this box when I received it:
All of this yummy fabric, so much it covered my table.

My weakness right here, Christmas fabric, so many to choose from, but I promise, I left plenty for the next recipient!

Some really cute and fun fabrics that I will leave for the next person, but oh that red hat fabric was really calling my name!

Several quilt patterns were also inside and oh how I could have used them, but looking around my house and just now working on a project and pattern I have had for almost 8 years, I will pass these along!

Here is what I am keeping:

2 Christmas panels and 3 smaller pieces of Christmas fabric as well as these 10 fabrics of which the purple and blue are over a yard and the others are between less than a fat quarter to just around 1/2 yard. I know it looks like tons, but I promise you there is more to choose from!

One thing I noticed is that this wonderful box lacked some notions, so I am adding:
2 rolls of ribbon, a bobbin tree, a pounce with a full bag of chalk, some brightly colored buttons and some plastic hexie templates.

BUT WAIT!!  That isn't all, I added the following fabrics:
1 yard of pale green flannel, 1 yard of red/white and blue squiggle fabric, 1+ yard of the pink blended fabric, 12" x 42" purple plaid cotton, 16" x 44" purple muted fabric, FQ yellow muted fabric, 1/3 yard Scarecrow Collection fall fabric, Baby stripe fabric that can be used for fussy cuts, blue plaid that is 34" x 62" and a white poly that is 31" s 55" with an additional 25" x 33" piece and lastly 34" x 96" piece of batting by Warm Co.
