Shout Out For 4 Quilters

When the Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives, so many came to me asking to make quilts and you showed me that we could take over 70 quilts and get them completed and now we are down to the last 4 needed.

This is almost like trying to lose those stubborn last 4 pounds, they just keep nagging at you and that is what the need for these last 4 quilts are doing nagging me.

I am going to be honest and probably step on some toes, but in the past I have been blessed by many bloggers and quilters in ways that I never knew possible from complete strangers.

I have also blessed many bloggers reaching out to them when they were in need and I know those of you who quilt have jobs, families, pets, farms, etc.  I get that!

What I don't get is how so many can say they have finished quilts just sitting around and nothing to do with them and yet, for some reason, you won't release them to a great cause.

Project Linus, Quilts of Valor and nursing homes are just a few of the needs out there and then, there are the last 4 family members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who gave their lives protecting others.

You would be amazed and saddened by some of the replies I have seen here in response to needing quilts.

Some of us have made 2, 3, 5 or more for these family members and I would truly love it if you could step up and make one. We only need 4, won't you stand up and be counted?

Hi, I have sent a top already, and I plan on sending more. Is there help available for postage costs? I could mail you a completed quilt today if I had help with the postage.

How did your surgery go? How's your foot/ankle? What kind of quilts do you need? Kids or adults? I'm going to sewing camp September 21-25 on Vashon Island and could PROBABLY make 1 or 2 more quilts.
