New Year, More Tests = Human Guinea Pig

So I finally went to see my doc to get the results of my Neuro exam and she said the Neuro determined I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). Huh, Say what??

I was asked if I am fidgety, couldn't remain in my seat at school, couldn't remain focused, got easily off track, etc..

My reply was no to school, I was a 911 operator for over 12 years and was able to focus on two telephone calls, a radio and conversations behind me all at once with no issues.

They have decided that I have adult ADD induced by my not working full time.  I am sooooo confused.

I get 3 kids up to school everyday, clean house, go shopping, keep appointments (well sometimes I show up a day early), volunteer at Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, set up and organized quilters from all over the world to get quilts to the Granite Mountain Hotshots and now all of a sudden I have ADD?

Then she slipped in it is also believed I am in the beginning stages of Parkinson's. Well, that could explain some of it.

So, flu shot today, blood tests today, referral to my ENT for another hearing test since I feel my hearing is worse than it was 3 years ago when I had my last one and a sleep study test.

Now that one will be interesting since I do not get any more than 3-4 hours of sleep at any given day of the week because I can't go to sleep at night and if I turn in at 9 or 10, I am wide eyed and back up at midnight, but let them do the testing so maybe we can get to the bottom of this once and for all.

Is ADD responsible for my dropping things? For my falling? For my silent migraines? I can go on, but I guess I will try this new medication and see what happens!

ADD might not make you drop things or fall, but Parkinsons surely could. Hopefully the docs will find the right meds for you. And the sleep study will be interesting. That is actually what my older daughter does for a living - sleep studies. And it's amazing how many children she does.

So sorry you're feeling kind of "beat up." It may be hard to believe, but I do understand, and sympathize, because I've been there too. I'd worked for over 30 years in a very stressful position. I had a lot of your symptoms, and my memory seemed to disappear. I stopped at every traffic light because I couldn't remember quickly whether red or green meant to stop. I was lucky to have a good doctor coordinating all the tests and visits to specialists.

Eventually, reasons for all the problems were diagnosed. Improvement was slow, but now my life just gets better and better. I believe that will happen for you too. Don't fight it, try to stay calm, and, above all, give yourself some of the care and kindness you give to others.

I think adult add is just multi tasking :) You are a mom and grandma so of course your attention is going 17 different directions at the same time. What a crazy day you had. Sounds like you need some relaxation and a warm quilty hug :) Favorite color?
