I have been a part of a truly amazing Facebook page for over a year or more now that fabric designer, seamstress and quilter M'Liss Rae Hawley posts almost everyday about her family, their travels, story about her husband Michael's law enforcement, her 90+ year old father Kenny, her newly commissioned police officer son, his wife and their 2 beautiful children and her daughter who lives far away in Ireland.
M'Liss is warm, open and loves sharing her beautiful fabrics and dogs and travels with all of us.
Sadly, M'Liss had a stroke earlier this week and blessed that her husband Michael called her while it was going on and noticed her speech was slurred and she said she was on the floor.
Of course, Michael rushed to her side along with the medics and she was rushed to the mainland (they live on an island) to a hospital.
The report last night from Michael is she is sitting up and slowly getting better, but Michael says she will need rehab and I am stepping out and asking for prayers for this amazing lady.
We are a community and while at times quilters seem so far away from each other, during times like these, we are closer than we all know.
I encourage each of you to head over to her facebook page and send her prayers and good wishes for a fast recovery:
