Day 2 of the Eggsperiment

So, one of her eggs went kablooey and began to ooze yolk out of its shell & she thinks she cracked it when she initially put it in the bowl yesterday, so it had to be tossed out.

But, after 24 hours of soaking in white vinegar and very gently taking the two survivors out of the old vinegar and very gently washing the gook off (don't you just love my scientific terms?) them and extremely gently placing them back in the bowl and recovering them with white vinegar.

TADAH.......DRUM ROLL PLEASE.......
Here are the 2 surviving eggs and as you can see, they are beginning to loose their shells. There is not as much bubbling from carbon dioxide today as there was yesterday because their is not as much calcium carbonate (shell) left on the eggs.

You can just begin to see the yolks peeping through and if all goes according to plan, tomorrow there will be an entire egg with just the membrane holding it together so she can get it to school on Thursday to share with her class mates.

Watch tomorrow for more impressive pictures on Shy's great Eggsperiment!

I'm out of vinegar but I'm having Earl bring some home tomorrow so we can try this. It sounds like fun!!
