Jesus Quilt

I am going back to making these simple 'Hug,' quilts. While I do not have a picture at this time to show, I wanted to post the story of these quilts and how they came to be.

Jesus Quilt

As I was designing and sewing this quilt, I began to get frustrated with the small mistakes I was making in sewing the letters onto the quilt. One day as I was getting ready to rip out the seams and start over, I heard a soft voice tell me ‘leave it as it is, it is a testimony of who I am.’
The brightness of the red, green, orange and yellow squares represent Jesus brightness as told in Revelation 22:16, ‘I Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things ‘for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.’
But, my stitches are not perfect Lord and they should be. The Lord replied that I was not meant to be perfect because according to Romans 3:23, ‘for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’ I was getting frustrated because I was trying to achieve something I wasn’t meant to and that was perfection.
The buttons are an interesting twist to this quilt because I had decided to border the quilt with them prior to sitting down at my sewing machine and having my conversation with Jesus.
It was revealed to me at that time, that the buttons on this quilt come in all colors, shapes and sizes and represent the many followers of Christ. We are humans and we come from all nations, all colors, young and old, short and tall.
Revelation 7:9, ‘after these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands.’
In my frustration, the Lord showed me a valuable lesson in patience and understanding of His word and His intentions for this quilt to spread His word and to keep me understanding that I can do the best of my ability, but I will never be perfect because it isn’t meant to be.
May God Bless you with this quilt and the story it tells and may it give you years of peace and happiness as you remember His words while this quilt was being put together.

God Bless and In His Grace,

Ranny Jean
