I have lived in the Grays Harbor County area of Washington since June 2007 and never have I seen the river get as high as it is now. It has come over its banks in several areas and today the kids and I went to see what it looked like.
I think what we saw today was just a part of it, as one area in which we filmed, there was debris, driftwood and a huge mess from the bank of the river about 10 feet past the sidewalk and close to one of the stores, there was water that had come up past the bulk head (we didn't get close to that at all).
Enjoy our silliness today as I pretend to be a weather person and my granddaughter the camera person. There is a park called Rayonier but it had water in it and I decided where we filmed was much safer.
This area has been hit hard with rain which is normal, but seeing the river crest its banks is not a normal site to me and no matter where I was or which river we were close to, the water was coming over the sides or dangerously close to it. It has actually begin to come across some roadways in our area!
