Our grandson turned 8 years old today. I can still remember the day his mom came into my kitchen and said her stomach hurt but she didn't think she was in labor.
We had only found out she was pregnant about a week before, she hid it all from us.
I told her she was probably in labor and had my son take her to the hospital.
He was born pre-mature, had some complications in the form of being under developed and a birth deformity that we were told would correct itself.
Seven years later the wonderful doctors up in Seattle corrected the deformity and he wrote about it in his Voices of Children letter, being fixed so no one teases him anymore.
He is a joy. All boy, but so much fun. He is kind, considerate, his sisters fight with him one minute and then miss him if he is not at home at night. When he is tired, he goes to bed, when he is cranky, he lays on my lap for comfort.
He is beautiful, amazing and an awesome kid to know!
Happy Birthday Little Man, we love you very much!
