Quilts For Aurora Colorado Tragedy

Calling all quilters, knitters and crocheters, we need to get quilts to Aurora, Colorado ASAP to show the emergency dispatchers, first responders, survivors and surviving family members the quilting community cares about this sad tragedy.

I have set up a Facebook site for updates, quilt pictures and any information I receive.  We can do this, we must do this as a way to show we care.  Quilters are amazing.  During the Japan Tsunami quilters from all over the world sent quilts to help.  Then the Alabama and Missouri tornado's hit and we met the call again sending thousands of quilts to those in need.

Now, lets wrap our first responders up in quilt hugs and let them know we truly care.  You can check out my FB here:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Aurora-Colorado-Emergency-Responder-Quilts/401592493230782

So far I have had promises for 4 quilts and others have promised to send money so I can help those who can make quilts but can't afford to mail them with postage.  You will NOT get money, I will make arrangements to get you pre-paid boxes for postage.

We can do this...there are 82 emergency dispatchers, 59 injured survivors, 12 were killed and I do not have the total number of on scene responders, so right now, I am asking for a total of 153 quilts just to start.  We want to not only help those that survived and responded, we need to make one for the 12 families that lost a loved one.

I can crochet and cross stitch. What can I do to help? Do you want me to try to round up some cross stitched squares for quilts? I have a blog and can get help from my followers.

I don't have a Facebook, so I don't know what all is going on your FB page.
