Quilts Needed for Las Vegas
If you are a quilter and still following my blog and I know I have not been posting as much lately due to family issues, please, please send a card, a lap sized quilt for even a box of Keurig cups to the unseen heroes of this tragedy.
Remember, if they get to many, they will share with others involved in this massacre! Any questions, please feel free to contact me!
LAS VEGAS ADDRESS UPDATE! Please share this on your page or with friends. Also , there is one agency that has decided to buy each Center a Keurig machine so if you are looking for something to send them send them a box of the most current version of Keurig cups for coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Other than that gift cards for Starbucks or fast food places are other ideas along with anything from your region of the country that might be fun. Okay here is a comprehensive list of the two primary agencies within Las Vegas that handled the shooting Sunday Night. Las Vegas Metro Communications 911 Center had 40 dispatchers on duty. Their total amount of dispatchers is 150. The address to send cards, letters and Gifts of support is 400 South Martin Luther King Boulevard. Las Vegas, Nevada 89002. Make sure that you attention it to the Bureau of communications or 911 Center.
Las Vegas fire handles fire and emergency medical dispatching. They had 11 dispatchers on when the event happened but called in additional help so they worked with a total of 16 people that night. They're total complement of dispatchers is 54. You may send support Cards & Gifts too Las Vegas fire Communications division 500 North Casino Center Boulevard Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. We know there are additional communication centers like private ambulance companies, North Las Vegas, Henderson Police and the highway patrol. We have asked Metro and the fire department to share with them rather than Post 6 or 7 different addresses. Thank you for your support both Las Vegas Metro and Fire have asked us to share their appreciation for all of the love and out reach they have received.

A Whirly Week
It has been a strange and whirlwindy week here in Washington. First came the news of my moms breast cancer and then waiting for 3 days to hear any further and yet there still isn't any news until she sees the surgeon.
Then working 2 days in a row hand quilting (why oh why do I think I can do these things quickly?) a large full sized quilt and I am still working on that. Spending last night trying to find the pattern instructions for the newest grandchilds dress. I cut all the pieces out and I think I can do with without the pattern, but arrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh, it aggravates me to loose something!
I have worked the past 2 days and really had a great time. Today I came home and there were white beans and ham on the stove cooking away and hubby just informed me he is treating us all to a real walk-in movie this evening! WooHoo! We are going to see 'Witch Mountain.'
To all who have inquired about my doctor report, the biopsy showed normal tissue and I had 6 days off after the procedure. Yesterday after spending several hours on my feet, the problem started back up. See the doc Tuesday and hoping she will have some answers.
We are entering spring break and I am soooooooooooooooo ready for it. Painting to do, sewing and quilting!

How Do You Mark A Quilt?
Okay, so I had a great nights sleep last night and I am now back to my old self & feeling better. Thank you Sue for your encouraging words & yes, I do rely on God's goodness, it is just sometimes I feel He isn't listening to me. 'Nuf Said!
So I have all these quilting magazines & I found this really awesome Christmas Red Work pattern in one of them, but I don't have a clue how to get the pattern from the book onto a piece of fabric. I am a self-taught quilter, so I don't have a lot of experience in this area.
I have heard of tools that you place chalk on and lightly tamp the pattern onto fabric, fabric pens, pencils, graphic, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I read an article where a woman used wedding veil netting for this however, I tried that & it didn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sick Babies
The grandbabies have been having a rough time of it the past few days. One was running over a 100 degree temperature most of yesterday, but late today seems to have sprung back. While the oldest, has been sick since Saturday with an off and on high temperature, complaints of severe tummy ache, sore throat. I figured it was just a bug, however today we were directed by our pediatrician to take her to the emergency room. She has Strep Throat. Poor Baby!
I have to give kudos to the Grays Harbor Community Hospital ER staff, they were very sweet, kind and quick. We were in and out in less than an hour and a half & we even walked out with a bottle of her antibiotic and one dose down her before we left. My only complaint was there was no television in the room and for a small child, she got pretty bored, but she was a trooper.
I just can't stand to see the little ones sick, they just lay around and try to be brave, but cry and cry.
While they were sick, I was able to work on 2 more of my quilts. I am sure by now people are tired of seeing them, but here is my latest, a crib set for $20. The one on top is 21 1/2" w x 31 1/2" long, I made it from the left over scraps from previous baby quilts. This one would be perfect for tucking a baby into a car seat or cradle.
This one is the larger one based on a pattern known as Almost Amish. It is much larger and
perfect for the crib or to wrap the baby all snuggly and warm in. Both are just adorable with
the little baby feet print around them and the

the little baby feet print around them and the
stars. The teddy bear pattern is the cutest I have seen in awhile.
Currently, I am working on a 9 patch/2 patch for
some homeless youth in our town and a NASCAR
themed crib blanket that I think will be a huge
success.
The house we were hoping to get is sold already so I am believing it was not in Gods timing.
We are still trying to recover from the disaster and get our roof fixed. Our insurance company, Liberty Mutual is giving us excuses at every twist and turn. First they said the contractors were ripping us off (we checked jobs equal to ours prior to the storm, their prices are very consistent). Then they said we got a bid for 30 year shingles and we need bids for 20 year shingles. Once that was done we were told no one sent in a picture of our skylight which needs to be replaced. I swear, the more damage you have, the longer in getting the problem fixed.
Babies are all in bed, so I will say goodnight!
